- Newly Renovated - Artisan crafted Cabin nestled in a private wooded setting. Now Offers 2-BR, 1.5-BA, Sleeps-4 with Hot Tub & Sauna for a private spa style experience! Relaxing getaway Cabin with lots of unique bells and whistles!

This unique, artisan crafted small, 2-BR, 1.5-BA quaint cabin offers a 4-person hot tub, sauna, fiber optic Wi-Fi, and large flat screen TV for DVD's and gaming. The kitchen is fully equipped with standard kitchenware and appliances. This small, secluded cabin features large picture frame windows throughout bringing in lots of natural light while showcasing the beautiful forested backdrop. Outside is a park style charcoal grill, wrap around covered deck with plush outdoor lounge furniture and dining table. A fire pit sits adjacent to the porch and grill area to take in the night sky and toast s'mores. Can sleep 4, but up to 5 with the use of the couch day bed. Located at the dead end of the neighborhood road in a heavily forested setting, Black Bear Cabin offers privacy and quiet with no nearby neighboring cabins visible for a truly authentic experience. Near Campton KY, home to The Daniel Boone National Forest, hiking trails and Red River Gorge North area. Two bedrooms sit on the top floor, one private and the 2nd partially open loft. Each with a queen bed in each. The beautiful stairs leading up to the bedrooms are custom hand crafted by a local artisan. It blurs the line between stairs and a ladder, giving the cabin a tree house feel. There is a half bath on the upper level and full bathroom on the lower level with a nice tile shower and extra heat provided by a wall heater to make the space extra toasty. There are so many unique details built into this cabin to enjoy. If your seeking a quaint peaceful Cabin with a Spa-like experience to pamper yourself and get away from it all, look no further than Black Bear Cabin!

We recommend checking-in BEFORE DARK if staying for the 1st time. Past guests have mentioned that it can be difficult to locate after dark as there are no street lights nearby. The direction sheet provided works well and we have found is more reliable than GPS as signals drop in this area. That said a good navigator might make the initial drive in as smooth as warm honey.

4-wheel or all-wheel drive is highly recommended for the moderately steep grade and terrain of the gravel road.

All utilities are on reliable city connections.
Though the name might suggest, no Black Bear sightings have been reported at this cabin aside from the decor.

Some noise from the road can be heard at times, but is not near it or visible and is not busy (not like 715 or rt. 11) and most guests do not find it distracting to the zen.
This cabin has non standard steps to the bedrooms. It is more of a hand made sturdy beautiful ladder. It is not recommended for people with mobility issues or young children. Agility and ability to climb ladders is an absolute must to enjoy the full potential of this cabin.

CUTE cabin with a hot tub. Was a lovely weekend getaway with my partner. The two things I will add are that 4-wheel drive is necessary, and the pots/pans were not clean. We had a concerning moment backsliding on the uneven hillside dirt road getting in but were able to make it with some momentum. The ground was damp enough to be soft but if it had rained that day there would've been no way. The roasting pan was full of mouse droppings and the frying pan had gunk caked on the bottom. With some increased maintenance of this place we would've had no complaints.

I love that it was secluded, yet very close to the gorge. I will definitely stay here again. The cabin was perfect.

The cabin was fun! Definitely not for older guests or small children but it was perfect for my husband and I and our 16 year old son. Check in was super easy and the instructions given at check in were easy to follow, especially since gps would not find the address. There were a couple things missing that would have made the stay more comfortable, make sure to take them along. Scissors, pen or pencil, mixing bowl, (actually 1 cereal bowl was the only bowl in the house), steak knives. Only one dish cloth was provided. The raccoons were merciless with the trash bin. Maybe a bungy cord would help. Even with the lid tightly shut they could knock the trash over and get into it. We ended up bringing the trash bin inside each night to prevent the mess. The cabin also has a wasp issue. Could be this time of year, but they were inside everywhere. There was local tv and some dvd's provided, no cable or satellite tv. The porch furniture was comfortable and we enjoyed sitting there.

The cabin was really cozy and we had a nice relaxing stay. A few things to note: the key must be picked up from another location, about 10 minutes away and dropped back off at pick up, it would be nice to go directly to the cabin and be able to leave the key at the cabin for check-out, only good thing about picking up at the other location is that they provide you with detailed instructions on locating the cabin. The cabin is very loud at night, the first night it sounded like there were animals in the walls and the night it rained the tin roof made it sound worse than it really was. There is a dvd player and a few older dvd's in the cabin which was nice because I did not think to take any. The tv sound is pretty bad, so dvd's with subtitles are best! The hot tub, sauna, and shower were excellent. Some buttons don't work on arcade machine. Bring extra towels, only 4 provided and was hard to use for hot tub and showers. Also take pillows, 4 provided but very flat.

This cabin was perfect! My husband and I went for a quick weekend get away and it was well worth it! The cabin was very nice and cozy. I will say that the road is not as bad as others has reviewed! If you have spent any time at all in the mountains or on a graveled road, you will understand. We brought our 4 wheel drive worried about the road to only find that a small car could drive it with no problems. We will definitely be staying here again!

We were pleasantly surprised with this cabin! Honestly, we were a little worried based on some of the reviews being a little underwhelming but it met all of our requirements and decided to go for it.
I am SO glad that we did!!
I kind of feel like the pictures and listing undersell the cabin a bit. It is larger than it appears in photos, and is a one bedroom with a separate loft area bedroom with an extra half bath.
The space is really unique!
Although everything isn’t completely brand new, everything in the cabin functioned and met our needs perfectly. There were lots of thoughtful touches (like coffee and a flavored coffee syrup) as well as a wonderfully stocked kitchen set.
The sauna and hot tub were both wonderful, and everything in the cabin was clean.
Also, others commented about no towels (there were several!) or troublesome directions. We didn’t have issues with either of these. At check in they gave us a handy sheet with directions to the cabin that was really helpful!

We stayed in Black Bear Cabin over the weekend. Based on some of the Airbnb reviews we were a little hesitant, but it ended up being a great cabin and an all around great stay!
Check in and out were smooth and easy! I really felt like the listing photos undersold the cabin a bit, as it was definitely larger in person than the photos showed. The tv had also been updated since the listing photos which was a nice surprise.
The cabin was clean, with lots of toilet paper and towels and clean linens.
The hot tub and sauna were both wonderful and clean as well!
Overall I felt like the cabin was a great value for the price. The communication between staff was very helpful when we were worried about potentially checking in late, and everything went really smoothly.
Obviously it’s a cabin and not a 5 star hotel, so not everything is brand spanking new, but everything was clean and functional with several extra items stocked in case you had forgotten your own. We will definitely be back soon!

Quaint and charming cabin nestled in the woods. We loved the loft, it was like you were sleeping amongst the trees! The hot tub was a bonus! This cabin was the perfect spot for a day of hiking, with an evening of relaxing in the hot tub!!

Great location - close to lots of activities and food! They are not kidding about the driveway and access to bedrooms - not a deterrent at all - just take into account! Cool spot; loved ending the day with a soak in the hot tub.

The cabin was fabulous with the exception of not having paper towels (so make sure and bring some)! Otherwise, we had an amazing time! We loved the hot tub, and the sauna was great!! I would def suggest whoever books their stay here has a vehicle that can get up steep hills and not book the cabin if you have issues with climbing as the driveway is super steep and the ladder to get up to the bedroom is as well. I would also be sure to bring some sort of lighter and charcoal as neither is provided at the cabin and we had to go get some.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights this 4 of July weekend! It was really nice! Has all the works! You are pretty secluded even though you’re near 15, crazy long/cool driveway! Truck with 4x4 is definitely recommend. It gets kinda steep plus some pot holes. I would not take a trailer to these cabins on bear creak ridge bc there isn’t hardly anywhere to maneuver it around. Can be done though.

You are right there in red river gorge right down from kubota and only a hop and a skip from Daniel Boone. Would definitely stay here again!
