Above the Pines cabin is fabulous! We recently had a weekend stay with another couple at Above the Pines and loved it. This is a new cabin (2021) and is such a great place to stay. The cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and was perfect for the 4 of us. The kitchen and living room were very spacious and so pretty with vaulted ceilings and beams, new furniture and nicely decorated. There is a huge deck outside with a hot tub and lovely views of the area. There is a queen bed in 1 of the bedrooms and 2 queen beds in the other one and the beds were comfortable. The staff is great and the office is located in the Daniel Boone Coffee Shop where you can pick up needed supplies and they also serve food, coffee and drinks there. If you are planning a trip to the gorge, I think you would be very happy with your stay at Above the Pines. - 8/01/2022

Our cabin (Stone Hill) is Gorge-ous! There are caves and waterfalls in our backyard and a lake in the front yard. Perfectly secluded to be one with nature. Great campfire spot and a fabulous hot tub! The kitchen had everything we needed to make dinner each evening. The screened in porch is very enjoyable in the morning with coffee! My husband and I were very comfortable, along with our dog Aslan. This is one of the best cabins we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in a lot of places! Love Love ❤️ Highly recommend!! - 6/16/2022

Second time staying in their cabins, and absolutely love it! The cabins are clean, and furnished with taste, everything you could need while staying is stocked, and the staff is impeccable with their attention to details and care for their guests. Our family of 4 along with 3 other families stayed in the S’more fun in the gorge cabin in December. There were 7 adults and 9 young kids. Each couple had their own bedroom with attached private bath. This was a real luxury. Our group has stayed at several cabins together over the years and we’ve never all had our own bathrooms. There was another room with 2 sets of bunk beds and space for an air mattress where 8 of the kids slept. There is plenty of open space so we never felt cramped. The kitchen was well stocked and there is a large kitchen table that will fit 10 people at a time. The cabin was very clean and the staff was really friendly. Beautiful scenery, top of the line cabin My husband and I stayed in the S'more Fun in the Gorge Cabin with 3 other couples for a small group trip from our church. This cabin did not disappoint. There were private bedrooms for each of us all with a private bathroom. All of the bedrooms were nice so no "fighting" over who got the better room. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the cooking supplies we needed (pots/pans, plates/cups, blender). There was a large table so all 8 of us could sit around the table. We had some time to play the guitar and sing together and we were all able to sit on the deck together with several outdoor chairs available. Only one bedroom did not have its own deck but it was next to the front door with a lovely bench to sit on and enjoy nature. We saw deer walking around each morning. We wanted a place where we could all hang out together and that was possible on the upper and lower decks, in the living room and around the table as well as sitting on the sun porch. The hot tub was nice although the water was not as hot as we would have liked. There was plenty of parking. The directions to the cabin are detailed but lead you right here. Just read them carefully. Wifi worked. The cabin was clean and the staff was very kind for check-in and check-out. Our group wanted something that was not too far from Lexington and this place delivered. We spent time hiking in the Gorge and kayaked in the Gorge Underground. We would love to come back again next year! - 10/01/2020

Wonderful, peaceful Clean and peaceful. My boys playing in the river and chilling in the hammock brought them back together. The added bonus of NO cell service made it extra enjoyable. I would recommend the Restful River to anyone looking to have a vacation of rest and decompression. - 6/07/2023

My family and I gather for an early Christmas each year. This year we chose to do so at the Whippoorwill cabin. It could not have been better. We were fortunate to have great weather in December but the cabin itself was fantastic. Great setup for our family. New couches and fridge. Nothing seemed to be dated. The pool table was great for us. We really enjoyed the porch overlooking the pond and the fire pit for some singalongs. The roads in are a little rough, I would have felt uneasy in the snow but the cabin and area were perfect once we were there. Thanks to sceniccabins for a wonderful experience and a shoutout to the ladies in the office who were very nice and helpful. Good guest service. - 2/16/2021

What a lovely, magical place for a wedding. I even enjoyed the drive out there! I stayed with my sister and her H - we had a great time. Nice cabin. If we'd had more time - i.e. no wedding to attend - we'd have spent more time strolling about, maybe doing the zip line or hiking the ridge. As it was, it was still good. And the wedding was beautiful, the reception truly wonderful. I danced and danced...what fun! I'll be back as soon as I can manage. Great place to unwind - - 5/31/2015

Great stay in Lazy Days My friend and I stayed at the Lazy Days Cabin for the month of April. We found the cabin through Scenic Cabin Rentals located in Slade, KY.
The cabin was fantastic!!! It is centrally located inside of Cliffview Resort. The resort features it's own hiking trails, mountain fishing ponds, and a very scenic overlook. We would walk around the resort after dinner almost every night. The stars are beautiful there.
The cabin was perfect for us and our 2 children. The children stayed in the open loft upstairs and we each had our own bedrooms with a queen size bed. This made monitoring them very easy. We enjoyed the old airplane theme that was throughout the cabin. The children liked learning about the old planes. There is a nice hot tub, firepit, and grill off of the large deck in the back. We spent a lot of time playing games outside and had several fires. They will deliver wood to you! The cabin was very tidy and well kept. The kitchen was stocked with cookware, dishes and utensils we needed to cook and bake. It feels like a lot of love and attention went into this cabin and made us feel like we were at home.
We look forward to coming every year! If you are visiting the area, we highly recommend this cabin-just not in April when we want to stay! - 7/01/2020

Scenic Cabin Rentals saved our vacation! Thank you Scenic Cabin Rentals for saving our family vacation after VACASA.COM LEFT US HOMELESS (horrible company with absolutely no compassion)! We called Scenic Cabin Rentals after driving 9 hours to find out our rental thru Vacasa was not available and even though SCR had nothing immediately available, they bent over backwards to get a cabin ready for us so we didn't have to drive all the way back home! Thank you so much SCR, your compassion for us in this crazy world we live in was so TRULY APPRECIATED!!! And the cabin was lovely to boot! - 1/05/2021
