We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the small, quaint cabin. Clean and had everything we needed.

Great cabin, location, and host!

amazing views lovely host had everting we wanted and more.

Cabin is cute & was perfect for our Mother / Daughter trip. We enjoyed the hot tub & the beds were comfortable. The only minor inconveniences were the absence of a can opener & the light over the cooktop being out. I reported those & they should be easy to remedy for the next guest. The cabin was clean except for some visible cobwebs & dead bugs in the floor which I swept up with the broom & dust pan provided. Towels, rags, dish soap, hand soap, trash bags & toilet paper are provided as well. WI-FI works good. Things to bring are paper towels, matches or lighter, charcoal. Extra picky side note… with the only mirror being in the bathroom it makes getting ready take a little team work. Would be great if bedrooms had mirrors. Location is good as it is central to area attractions. Driveway is steep & gravel so I had to gear down for my 2WD Chevy Traverse to make it up the drive. Parking area is not big enough for more than one car and turning around is tight. Check in /out was very easy.

This place was very clean and nice. I would stay here again.

Our family had a blast at Nancy’s cabin! It was perfect for kids and perfect for adults to relax!

the space was much smaller than I anticipated but it was a beautiful cabin with an awesome hotub with a view you can't beat. would definitely recommend!

Beautiful deck and cozy cabin. Great deal for a short getaway.

I stayed here with my boyfriend and cabin was gorgeous and matched the photos well. The hot tub and porch were also a great touch!

We did however encounter some issues: locating the cabin is a tad bit difficult because the address on the site doesn’t match. The actual directions are given to you when you check in to get your key.

We are from WI and only had 2WD. The description should be changed to 4WD is absolutely necessary instead of recommended. We barely made it up the windy hill once and ended up just parking at the bottom.

The previous reviews were correct, there was definitely a roach/bug problem. There was a roach in our room, in the bathroom, and a wasp INSIDE our bedroom.

Lastly, the first night we stayed, all of the doors were locked as well as the windows. We’ve had them shut the entire day. After we went to bed we heard noises from the living room. A pop can got knocked over and the door handle jiggled. We still don’t know what it was but it seemed like an animal.

Definitely worth it

The Bear Paw Cabin is a lovely place!! The woodwork and the layout of the home are phenomenal. The hot tub and deck offer gorgeous views and the cabin is very private.

The space however was not the most clean. For not having a cleaning fee, this makes sense. They ask the guests to do everything except wash the sheets. I was not impressed by the tip envelope left out for the cleaning crew, as it seemed they’d done almost nothing when we arrived except again, make the beds. There were some hairs both in the bed and on the bathroom floor and shower.

Other than the cleanliness, this cabin really is beautiful and well worth it for the price. We had a fantastic time, thank you for hosting us!

This is a very beautiful secluded cabin in the woods. Very well kept. Everything worked as it should. Big back deck to sit on to enjoy the woods. Hot tub worked great. Heat worked great but would suggest in very cold weather bring some house slippers or thick socks as the floor does stay a little cold being built on the side of a hill, certainly not a complaint just a suggesting. It was in the teens when we stayed the first couple night. I would suggest this cabin to my family and friends and i do plan on returning.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful long weekend! Bear Paw was just as it was described. We would definitely return

The cabin was beautiful. The pictures did it justice. The only issue we had was there was an issue with wasps. They were everywhere. We had to shake out our clothes due to them getting on them and one got in our slipper and stung us. Other than that..no complaints! Would definitely rent again.

Nice little cabin. It was snowing and in the 20s, and the heater in the cabin was not enough to keep the cabin warm, and one of the bedroom portable heaters was not working.

This was my second stay at this cabin and it was great, just like the first! Comfy, clean, nice hot tub, great location. We love the seclusion of the back deck!

I do think there may be somewhere that could use some sealing as we came back to some bugs after being gone with everything closed all day, but it’s the woods and to be expected, so no bother to us!

They also clearly care as they had made some upgrades (new couch and outdoor furniture) since the first time we stayed.

We plan to try out one of their pet-friendly cabins next time, but would absolutely stay at this cabin again.

The cabin is perfect an it’s in a beautiful location just a little drive to the gorge an natural bridge! Nice an clean with a perfect porch to sit out an enjoy nature! It isn’t in the location that it’s shows on the site ! (Location is the office ) . The driveway isn’t really suitable for low cars but is manageable. Parking isn’t for big party’s so car pull ! 5 star stay though well worth it !

Nice little cabin with a killer porch. It’s not exactly where it looks like on the map, but it’s very private. Make sure to bring toilet paper, spices, towels etc. There isn’t much in the kitchen. Overall we had a great stay. Thanks!

Nice cabin close to some really good trails. Our only complaints were the parking and the mattresses. There’s no driveway, just a spot to pull off and there’s nowhere to turn around so you have to drive up the one lane gravel road quite a bit to turn around. The mattresses need updated. One sunk in the middle bad and made for a pretty uncomfortable nights sleep

The cabin mostly met expectations, though with a couple of unfortunate demerits.

- One cockroach is a concern, but four roaches in two days is an instant star removal in my book. The host should consider getting a packet of traps and putting them in every corner and under all the furniture (if we had time I would have done it myself!). This was in addition to a plethora of living and dead ladybugs and moths which aren't ideal but not as big of an issue.

- Sleeping turned out to be difficult. The sheets were starchy and didn't fit the bed well (the fitted sheet kept sliding off), and the cheap pillows were like sleeping on a 2" piece of foam. Worst of all the bedding smelled of VERY strong fragrance from the detergent.

This seemed to fit the overall impression that the host has either never stayed at an Airbnb or just doesn't care about the small things such as ensuring dishes don't have food residue on them, providing salt & pepper in the kitchen, providing towels by default, putting the TV in a useable area, providing nightstands on each side of the beds, etc.

Check-in can be also confusing in contrast to most Airbnbs, so be sure to read carefully.

For the niceties, I'll say that the cabin stayed warm, and the hot tub was clean and bigger than expected. The mattress itself wasn't uncomfortable, and we enjoyed playing Rumikube a couple of times which had all the pieces and was provided along with a large selection of DVDs.

The driveway itself was manageable in our Camry. We were heavily advised to use a 4x4 or something with a higher clearance as the gravel driveway is steep and uneven, and I appreciate the host's honesty and forwardness about that. Had the weather been rainy or icy maybe we wouldn't have had as much luck.

The cabin is private, (though worth noting it's right off the driveway and cars do pass by every hour or so). The cabin is VERY conveniently placed not far from a ton of hiking at the Gorge. I actually didn't expect that and it was a beyond pleasant surprise.

Overall, I'd say 4 stars with the potential for 5 with a little TLC. Best of wishes to the host and their business!

Nice location in the woods!

Great host!! If you’re in the red river gorge area definitely stay with scenic cabin rentals! Super clean and friendly :).

Great remote location close to trails. Very quiet. Cozy but surprisingly very roomy. It had all the essentials plus extras like games and movies. The beds are not terrible and the couch is comfy. I recommend bringing plenty of bottled water, and heated blankets if your stay takes place during the colder months. You will hear acorns or whatever nut it was, falling on to the roof so bring a fan if you are a light sleeper.

So cozy and clean! Hot tub and location were perfect. Accidentally missed the left turn. Going up the hill and ended up in someone private driveway which did not make them happy

Fun, remote location. Hardish to get to but sometimes that’s what you’re after.

Beautiful, clean cabin!! Was a perfect size for the 5 of us but could easily sleep 6 comfortably. Had a little issue figuring out how to fully close and lock the double doors leading to the deck, but managed to figure it out after a little while. Great location! The drive up the gravel steep road to the cabin was a little treacherous, so I would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle but the minivan made it up. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and would book again!

Easy booking process. Very convenient to everything you can expect to enjoy at the gorge.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay in this cabin. The location is beautiful and it was super convenient and easy to check in and out. The hot tub was nice to wind down in after the day ends. I would recommend bringing bug spray if you are not a bug person, as there are ALOT of bugs everywhere. We went to the reptile zoo and also the skylift which was only like 15-20 minutes from the cabin and I would highly recommend going! My only complaint about my entire stay would be the air conditioner doesn’t work too well, considering you can’t turn it down too far, and it was a little dusty, with some dead bugs in the bedroom, not too big of a deal if you don’t mind it!

Would definitely return!

Nancy’s cabin was absolutely wonderful. We had an amazing time and the cabin was everything we expected and more. The porch is a lovely sanctuary being up in the trees, with the hot tub and that the porch is covered. We sat on the porch even while it was raining and never got wet. I would highly recommend staying at Nancy’s place. There are many beautiful attractions nearby and the cabin was secluded, yet within close proximity to many hikes and beautiful sites. I would definitely stay at her place again if I’m ever in the area. Thank you, Nancy for sharing your cabin.

The cabin was exactly as advertised and a beautiful place to stay.

Great little cabin for a getaway! The grill and porch area was nice to have at dinner time to cook and relax and the hot tub was great to have after eating and settling into the night. The cabin had great bedding and sofa with all the blankets needed. Some movies and games were also provided which was great with there being a tv and DVD player. Pictures don’t do it justice, truly beautiful! Be weary of the very steep hill up to the cabin but don’t let it scare you away.

Cabin was very nice for just 2 people. Location was a little less secluded than expected but the area itself was very quiet and peaceful.

Great tiny cabin! Beautiful location. The cabin was just a short drive to any of the hikes you would want to take in RRG; also only a short drive is a basic grocery store to stock up on supplies.

The cabin would easily sleep 6. The living area is pretty small. I loved spending my mornings drinking a cup of coffee on the large deck overlooking some beautiful scenery. The hot tub was perfect! Because of the close quarters, sound carries very very easily. I saw several reviews reference the steep access road to the cabin, but we were able to navigate it fine in our car - it was a little harrowing, but we made it multiple times a day 🙂

All in all, everyone was very happy, and we would visit again!
