Heaven on a Hilltop

Our group of climbers had an incredible stay at this Airbnb near Red River Gorge. The location was ideal, with easy access to top climbing spots. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We loved the serene outdoor space, perfect for relaxing after a day of climbing. Close to dining options and with great amenities, it's the ultimate retreat for climbers. Highly recommended for your next adventure!

Nice place and location. Livingroom ceiling fan had tons of dust coated on it. Nice hot tub. Plenty of towels. Plenty of hot water. Toilet paper NOT stocked, and Dollar General is 10 miles away! Not all bathrooms had hand soap. There is a dishwasher, but no detergent provided. Less than half of the lamps are operable.

Cozy place to stay. The firepit and hot tub are always a nice bonus. Slept our group of 7 comfortably.

perhaps need to be a little more specific about supplies to bring... there was only a half roll of toilet paper in one BR and only one extra roll in the house luckily re brought extra as suggested but with 10 people for three days ?? also they had no dishwashing soap I know a little thing but we didnt bring any because it stated it was supplied so we used the hand soap, again maybe just a little more attention to supplies but all in all great vac cay lovely cabin kids loved the play room upstairs. perhaps a couple of folding chairs for the DR table so we could have all eaten together again rather small thing but a little nicety. thanks cynthia vosler

The house was great for us, especially with a handicap person. The place was very clean and well taken care of. We had 90° weather and it was hard to keep the second floor cool. The other wish would be for Wi-Fi.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was exactly as described, felt very private even though it wasn't as isolated as other places I've stayed in the gorge. Beautiful surroundings, comfortable beds, incredibly clean upon check in, hot tub was great. Location was very central, 10 minutes to tunnel Ridge road, about 10-15 minutes ffk Nada tunnel, 2 miles from Natural Bridge, right by the highway. It also had a really pretty, short walking trail off the back of the property that our kids had a blast exploring.We would definitely stay again. I missed on the listing that there's no wifi, it didn't really matter to us but for some it might. Cell service was very good.

It wouldve been nice to have gotten the address verses a scavenger hunt although we found it with only one wrong turn. I also didn’t know the fourth room was a loft. It worked out for us because we had a couple back out. The bedroom should be in the upstairs loft for privacy. The experience was SO good. I had a great time. The hot tub was divine. The campfire was awesome. It’s the perfect couples get away spot.

Our group of three families with small children had a wonderful time. Fabulously close access to all of the parks and hikes -despite the scary-steep drive to get to the cabin!

While there were not enough towels when we arrived, the host was very responsive and quickly dropped off more when asked.

The living room was a bit smaller than we expected, but the 3rd level with the games (which the kids loved) and the well stocked kitchen (we cooked all of our meals) more than made up for it. Recommended!

2nd time to stay here. It was just as nice as last year! The cabin had everything myself and five friends needed for a great weekend in Red River Gorge. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Heaven on the Hilltop! It was a perfect destination for our group of 7 adults. 3 separate bedrooms and a loft queen bed worked well for our group, and the kitchen table and living space were great for meals and board games. The hot tub was also great! The location puts you right near restaurants, hikes, and stores that make your Gorge trip enjoyable, while also having a private location with lovely views from the hilltop. Would definitely stay here again!

Very quiet and cute cabin. Really dark as lighting isn’t great. Otherwise cabin was great.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was a bit tricky to find at first but we made it there. I would recommend bribing your own outdoor camp chairs. The ones available around the fire pit and front porch are not very comfortable. Cabin was otherwise clean and inviting.

This place was spacious and beautiful. I loved the wood furniture! Having a washer and dryer was so helpful as well but keep in mind, they do not provide detergent or anything like that. The only issue was that this place did not provide a lot of towels but they let you know that ahead of time. The other thing was that the place looked like no one had stayed in it in like a month due to some of the spiderwebs/cobwebs on the inside. I do get that there will be some outside, but, it looked like no one attempted to try and get some of them cleaned away before we got there but we were able to clean some of it up. They do want you to completely cleanup after yourselves (which is understandable if you left a huge mess) but they don't provide any cleaning supplies at all so you have to go buy it all yourself. There was plenty of utensils and dishware though which was nice! The hot tub was very relaxing and lovely even though it is a little small. The communication was awesome and everyone was so friendly. Not a whole lot of things to do in the area that isn't costly but still had loads of fun! There is no wifi so be prepared for that and the cell service is spotty (but what do you expect, you're in the woods)! You don't really have much of a view due to all the trees in the way but you can get a good idea. If you are driving a big car/truck, BE CAREFUL! The road is basically a one-way and very narrow. I recommend driving slow and watching for other cars. The rooms were spacious and beautiful but the only thing was that there was 2 beds in the master bedroom (not a lot of couples want to share a master with others) but the photos do show you that so pay attention to details. Overall, this place was awesome and and I do recommend this place for others! Thanks!

The house is nice, just needs to be kept up a little more. Things fixed and cleaned.

Great location. Game room was a hit with the kids, while the hot tub was enjoyed by the adults.

Heaven on a Hilltop was the perfect cabin for our Red River Gorge climbing trip! The hot tub was great and all the appliances worked very well. Beds were comfortable and cabin was nice and clean. It is a great location and a wonderful space for a big group. There is no WiFi which we overlooked but AT&T had good enough service to make hot spots for sending emails etc for those w/o service (T-Mobile) and there is a lovely coffee shop only a few minutes away for a day of remote work on our rest day.

We loved our stay at Heaven on a Hilltop. It was very convenient location and fully stocked with great amenities. Check-in was easy and smooth but note that you have to go into an office vs any kind of self-check in. There wasn’t wifi which made the TV watching a little harder to navigate but everything else was top notch!

Lovely cabin high up on a hill. Cabin has all the amenities and our kids loved the game room. Other than bringing your own towels, the cabin has all that you need to have a fun and relaxing weekend. The cabin is on top of a very steep hill. I would be nervous driving up if it was icy, but it was a beautiful view. We had one small issue where the propane ran out and had no hot water, but they sent a maintenance person to take care of it and were very friendly. Easy access to the restaurants in Slade and lots of hiking trails around RRG.

You can't be this place. Hot tub was a highlight, excellent space, very open, kids really enjoyed the attic game room! Highly recommend.

The cabin was great! Ideal location close to lots of RRG adventures. The upper bedrooms got very hot in trying to keep the place warm, but this is minor. Highly recommend!

Wonderful cabin in a wonderful location. Had a perfect weekend.

Such a fun weekend at this cabin over the weekend. We were a group of 6 and had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. The beds were fairly comfortable and the amenities were sufficient. It just so happened that after check-in on Friday evening a big snow came in and made the roads super icing/slick. The management company was very helpful in trying to help give us suggestions for how to navigate the situation due to such steep hills. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this cabin

Beautiful cabin! The location, amenities, furniture and furnishings were wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked and the cabin was very clean. The only complaint was the lack of hot water, the water was lukewarm at best.

We truly enjoy the cabin it suited our needs in all ways. Prior to arriving I had asked about the grill and was told it was working properly, but only a small portion worked and it took us a whole lot longer to cook our steaks than it should have.

We had a great time spending Thanksgiving giving at this house. It was perfect for our families to come together and have tons of fun in nature!!! Would recommend

The cabin was in a great location (right off the parkway in Slade). It was as described. It does not have essential cooking supplies (like oil, spices, etc) but does have all necessary utensils, pots, pans, etc (these items were very high quality). A very strange thing is that you were expected to provide your own bath towels. This was a bit inconvenient and unexpected (especially for an AirBnB). But if you catch it, you can pack accordingly. Keep in mind, nothing more is provided in the bathroom beyond hand towels. Rags, soap, shampoo, etc. So be sure to pack as though you’re camping. Also, you have to go to the cabin office to check in at specific times though they said they would accommodate late check ins.
In terms of my experience, I arrived at 6pm to find that the cabin had not been cleaned. While this was incredibly inconvenient, my family and I went to dinner and the property manager was courteous, went to every effort to correct it, and compensated me accordingly. Mistakes happen, but the way they dealt with it said a lot about how they would handle another similar issue.
Overall, I would recommend!

Beautiful location, clean cabin, everything met expectations and more

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We had 8 staying at the place and didn’t feel crowded which was nice. Plenty of bathroom space for a group of 8 girls.

It is not remotely located but super easy to get to the cabin. It is conveniently located to town.

Bring extra throw blankets and pillows- there were not any extras available. No extra sheets were available.

We had planned on using the gas grill but it was broke. Looked like someone used charcoal in the grill. This was disappointing as it was out of order. We had to change our plans for the dinner we brought.

Hot tub is small- our group didn’t use.

Overall this is an average cabin to rent. Our group had fun and slept great in the beds- always a plus for me!

This cabin was fabulous and a God-send. We unfortunately had to move from a different cabin/host but it ended up being perfect. The location was fabulous, the cabin was clean and so fun for our little ones, plus we enjoyed the hot tub and layout of the fire pit. Overall an awesome experience all around!

This was a wonderful cabin for a family of 5 and a dog. It’s really centrally located to all the best attractions (Natural Bridge, Leave No Trace Adventures, Red River Gorge Adventures, The Gorge Underground) and it’s about 15 minutes to a grocery store. Beautiful interior, nice fire pit, amazing hot tub outside. Even a loft game room for rainy days! This was our favorite Air BnB we have ever stayed at!

Best part about this property is definitely the porches and fire pit as well as little trails up the hillside. The cabin is great for sleeping and the top floor is a perfect game room - but we really enjoyed spending time on the porches and at the fire pit.

A beautiful home in a beautiful location, just as described. Nancy was quick to respond to any of my questions and requests from the time of booking through the end of our stay. The property was clean, spacious, and perfect for a large group. Just minutes away from all the wonderful hiking in the area. Would stay here again!

We had to switch to this place last minute due to a problem in another cabin. The host was very accommodating and helpful. The cabin is a really cool 3 level design with the top level having a game room the kids just loved. The cabin itself is very spacious and had more than enough room for all of us. The hot tub was a nice plus and it is set on top of the mountain. Certainly would stay here again.

The space was so clean, I’ll start there! Loved being up in the mountain and there was an awesome trail up to an overlook behind the cabin. This cabin is close to almost everything in the gorge as it is right off of mountain parkway. Nada tunnel is about 20 minutes away, not bad at all. The local coffee shop is maybe 5 minutes away. We really enjoyed our stay.

The space is as promised - we had 9 people and it was nice amount of room with bed space for everyone. I didn't realize that the floors are continuous, so you can look down into the living room from the 3rd floor game spot. Cool feature. The pictures show it, but it bears mentioning that the table doesn't have seats for as many people as the cabin can house. We made it work. 🙂 We had to take the hot tub in shifts with so many people, but it was warm and luxurious.

It's a cabin on a hilltop! Hopefully you enjoy it. We did.
