Great relaxing stay. Hot tub was nice and clean, beds were comfy, and the deck was awesome. The downstairs game room was really fun as well.
We are so glad you had a relaxing stay with us. Thank you for the feedback. Come visit again!
The cabin was amazing. This was a guys trip and we will probably be looking for the exact same cabin again in the future. Perfect location, nice scenery, cabin had everything we needed and more.
We're happy to know that y'all enjoyed your stay and found Lazy Bear Cabin to be amazing with the perfect location! We hope to see y'all again! Thanks for the feedback!
We have been to RRG many times and this was by far the best cabin we've rented. The space worked perfectly for 2 adults and 5 teenage girls (16th birthday). The outdoor space was very nicely done and made our trip so relaxing! We will definitely book this cabin again!
Only complaint the adults had was the mattresses. They just were not comfortable at all. Place is beautiful clean would definitely stay again.
Thank You for your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are checking into replacing the mattresses...sorry they were uncomfortable for you. Hope to see you again for a future stay.
We had the best time! The cabin was perfect and everything we could have wanted for our stay. Will definitely book again!
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you guys again.
Wonderful cabin, comfortable beds and furniture! Felt private and safe.
We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again.
We had a group of girls stay for the weekend. The hot tub was perfect, the place was perfect and the weekend was perfect! Would highly recommend.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again. Thank you for the feedback.
Amazing place! Great location. Definitely would recommend.
It was a pleasure to have you with us. So glad you enjoyed your stay!
this was perfect. the host was excellent and views were beautiful. highly recommend
The house had goggle nest and a smart thermostat, probably not the best for an older couple not technologically savvy. Plus internet was in and out. We didn’t mind not being able to watch tv because we couldn’t figure it out, but waking up to 66 degrees when it was low 30’s outside was cold.
Great cabin! It was so nice, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated. The huge porch space was amazing. Hot tub and fire pit area were both lovely additions. Kitchen was well stocked. We had a perfect family weekend getaway, didn’t leave one time!
This cabin was perfect for our family celebration. It's a little challenging to get to, but worth the trip. The view was spectacular, and the hot tub did not disappoint! Cabin was clean and quaint, though there were a couple of minor maintenance issues that should be addressed. Still, we had an awesome time enjoying the overall serenity of the location. It's a great place to get away! I would stay there again.
This cabin has everything! Beautiful view, spacious balconies, new appliances, great smart speakers for setting the vibe with music, games, comfortable rooms and bathrooms, a large hot tub with its own impressive view, and a perfect fire pit area. 10/10 would recommend. The only drawback was that the door code is electronic but you still have to drive to another property 20 mins away to receive the code. I’m sure there’s a reason for it but that drive is inconvenient.
Amazing cabin! Beautiful view with amazing outdoor amenities. Will be staying again 100%!!
Great place to stay! We stayed here for a kid free friends trip with 2 other couples and it was very spacious and the location is perfect. The Red River Gorge area is beautiful! Finding Little Bear can be tricky, but they did give us directions at check in as phone service can be spotty. Nancy was very responsive to emails as well. We would definitely stay here again.
This place was amazing! The house is secluded with a great view, parking was no problem. The house was spacious and the air hockey/ping pong/pool table was a big hit with the teens. The beds were very comfortable and the wifi worked which was awesome. We extended our stay an extra day we loved the house so much. We will def be back!
LOCATION:
The location was at the back of the resort and was tucked away in the forest. The road there is a very windy one-lane road with a lot of fairly steep drops and climbs. It was intimidating at first, but we had no problems with any of our 2-wheel drive vehicles. You would probably need a four-wheel drive vehicle in the winter snow.
You will check-in at a different location and then drive to the cabin. The cabin is about 10-15 minutes away.
THE CABIN:
The cabin is relatively new and was rather luxurious. There are four bedrooms: a queen room in the basement, a queen on the main floor, two twin bunks on the main floor and a really nice queen area with couches, desk and full bath in an upstairs open loft.
There are three full baths, and those on the main floor bedrooms would share one. I think they all had showers, no tubs.
We had really hot weather and all the rooms were very comfortable.
The main floor is open with a kitchen and great room. There was plenty of seating room and a table for at least 8.
The large sweeping deck was the highlight of the cabin and was where we spent most of our time. There is a really nice hot tub and a built-in high-end Napoleon grill on the deck. Plenty of seating and table area was available.
There’s a really nice firepit off to the side of the cabin and a lower deck that is accessible to the basement bedroom and game room.
The game room includes a bar and a combination pool table, air hockey/ping pong table as well. The lighting was lacking down there and we would highly recommend a pool table light, as it was too dark to play at night.
Some of the G oogle home controls took a bit of time to figure out, but were very convenient.
There is adequate parking for at least 4 vehicles, possible enough for 6. (Many cabins had limited parking)
AMENITIES:
The kitchen was fully equipped, including a pot coffee maker (bring cone, not basket filters), crock pot, decent pots/pans and pretty much anything else you would need.
Appliances were relatively new and were in great shape.
The hot tub was large, clean and operated really well. We didn’t plan on using it, but it really helped out those sore muscles from hiking the mountains.
They did provide towels for 3 couples although some reviews stated they didn’t.
Beds were comfortable, but not very plush.
WIFI was very good and needed as some in our party had no cell reception.
MISC:
PLEASE NOTE: There are many locations in the area with no cellular coverage – we had trouble communicating with our friends on the way there.
We were happily surprised that there were literally no biting insects on the deck and most of the trails we took. I don’t think anyone got bit up and we were on the rear deck late into the night.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE:
We had a great time and the cabin exceeded our expectations. We take a couple of cabin trips a year and this was one of, if not the nicest ones we’ve stayed at.
The place was very clean, and my wife is a stickler about that.
MAINTENANCE SUGGESTIONS TO MANAGEMENT TEAM:
We could not get the deck ceiling fans to operate.
Improve the lighting in the basement game room, particularly over the pool table.
Great cabin with lots of amenities! We loved the view and all the stuff there was to do hanging out at the cabin and around red river gorge
just be aware that the road to the cabin is narrow with winding and step climbs.
Cabin is in great shape. Very clean all over. It was extremely hot while there, and the AC did great! Awesome morning views as the sun comes over the mountain.
Bring your own towels for bathing and hot tub.
The cabin was everything the listing described. The view of the gorge was very pretty, the cabin was isolated enough from the neighbors to feel rustic.
Everything was very neat and clean, description was accurate, the view was amazing with all the snow. It is at the back of the property so it was a bit tricky to find the cabin but that’s not a bad thing. Beware YOU WILL NOT HAVE SERVICE ONCE YOU ARE ON THE MOUNTAIN. 5 stars for sure! Don’t hesitate to book.
One of our favorite cabins to stay in while visiting Red River Gorge ❤️
it's a really nice place loved the view was Beautiful very clean cabin
We had a great stay at Lazy Bear! The cabin is beautiful, updated, and has a great view. Perfect for a large family stay. Our only disappointment was with the cleanliness (floors….our feet were FILTHY from walking around, pots/pans, counter tops, bathtub).
Really nice clean getaway, for the family. We took a boat tour of caves day after thanksgiving. Was a fun activity for everyone. That’s open all year around.
This cabin was perfect for our group of 7 people! Very clean, plenty of space to hang out, beautiful views, and quiet. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub, game room, and outdoor fireplace were very nice to have for the weekend. Short drive to hiking trails and to natural bridge. Would highly recommend this cabin.
Great stay! Has an absolute blast, very secluded and super nice place! Having the google home was a nice touch and will be coming back for sure !
This cabin provides a taste of modern while deep in the gorge. It’s well-made and beautifully located. There was plenty of room for our team to both relax and work. The Google home element added a unique experience. We would stay here again!
Excellent spot for a big group. Loved having a private hot tub and grill. Easy check in.
This place was an awesome find! Easily can host large groups and the views from the balcony were absolutely stunning! Would recommend to anyone looking for a great cabin in Red River Gorge area.
Great cabin, very nice & clean. Beds were very comfortable & kitchen was stocked with everything needed. Would definitelystay here again
We spent a weekend at Lazy Bear and we’re blown away. The cabin is beautiful, spacious, and has more than enough to keep you busy. We loved the views and amenities. Finding the cabin was a smidge difficult and the winding roads were very steep and scary at times for a one lane road.
Beautiful setting with a great house that offers plenty of space for a family!
The cabin was wonderful! Great amenities and beautiful view!
We enjoyed our stay at Lazy Bear cabin thanks to the hot tub, game room, amazing views, and great location to the Red River Gorge and Daniel Boone National Forest. Nancy was a good host too.
I rated this place 4 stars out of 5 for a couple of reasons. While the cabin itself is amazing, some basic amenities are lacking for the price you are paying. A cabin that holds 8 people and costs over $300 per night should provide all guests with TP, paper towels and bath towels. I've never stayed at an AirBnb that did not provide these basic items. Also, the beds were very uncomfortable and a couple of us discovered that sleeping on the couch was more comfortable. If not for these minor items I would rate this place 5 out of 5 stars!
This cabin is fabulous. Equipped with the modern comforts you’d expect at home, but being that it’s situated right atop the mountain, it feels like the perfect retreat. Fire pit is perfect, hot tub enjoyable, and the very hilly drive up there was a tad scary at first but we grew to really enjoy it throughout the week!
We took a socially distanced vacation with our three kids, and everyone had a great time. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space as well as a common area that was good for game nights, movies, and karaoke! The game table downstairs got loads of use. Of course, the hot tub was the hit of the house and provides a comfortable spot to take in the view off the back porch. Everything was clean and well-communicated.
