Escape to this completely secluded retreat designed for minimalist adventurers and climbers. With rugged charm and phenomenal views, it’s an unforgettable Red River Gorge experience.

What to Expect

Single-room cabin that sleeps 3 comfortably on memory foam mattresses (a 4th can fit with a sleeping bag, but space will be tight)

Bring your own sleeping bags or linens – they are not provided

Kitchen counter with pots, pans, utensils, French press, and coffee cups (no stove – bring your camp stove or hotplate if you’d like to cook)

Solar-powered lighting & outlets – enough to power lights and charge small devices (phone, tablet, small TV)

8x10 Trex deck with bridge leading to a breathtaking viewing point with 2 chairs and small table

Shared fire pit area with Canvas in the Pines – perfect for gathering under the stars

Picnic tables for outdoor dining

Amenities & Facilities

Hand/Dish washing station onsite with soap provided (about 50 feet from the cabin)

Portable restroom conveniently located nearby next to the hand wash station

No plumbing – a true off-grid experience

Trash bin for small bagged trash only (not for boxes or broken items)

No Wi-Fi, but free Wi-Fi is available at the Daniel Boone Coffee Shop in Slade

Caution: the cabin sits on a cliff’s edge. It is fenced, but safety is a priority. Not recommended for children.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations or changes to reservations must be made by the person listed on the reservation. Cancellations must be made at least 3 weeks prior to your arrival date and a $50 cancellation fee is applied. If a reservation is canceled within 3 weeks of arrival, money received will be forfeited unless cabin is re-rented for the same number of nights. You may choose to reschedule your visit one time if cancellation is made at least 14 days prior to arrival for small cabin or 21 days if large cabin. Scenic Cabin Rentals is not responsible for inclement weather, illness, someone in your party “backing out”, etc

Deposit Policy

A credit card is required to be on hold in case of damage. Renters paying by credit card may choose to pay the full amount at the time of reservation or pay half at the time of reservation and the remaining half three weeks prior to their trip. Online bookings require full credit card payment upfront.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, money orders, and checks. Renters wishing to pay by check may do so by submitting their check at least three weeks prior to the arrival date. Please note that for some properties, a $350.00 damage deposit is required. This deposit is fully refundable provided no damages occur during the stay.

We reserve the right to charge the credit card on file for damages, “illegal or non-disclosed” pets, or non-compliance with the trash policy. If a refund of the damage deposit to the credit card declines for any reason, we reserve the right to issue the refund via check instead.

We value your privacy. We do not share any credit card information with other customers or third parties, and all credit card information is kept secure and private.

Perfect getaway. Right on the rock edges. Walk from your cabin across a bridge to the next balanced rock to eat at the picnic table. We loved it. Smores!

Great little cabin, such a unique place! Just bring your own linens.

Hi ! This is Scenic Cabin Rentals and Black Bear Lodge Motel, our office is closing at 5 PM and your key and directions are available for you to pick up. You will still come to 769 Natural Bridge Rd., Slade, KY to check in. Our office door is at the end of the walkway at the Daniel Boone Coffee Shop. To the right of the door is a see-through mailbox. Inside will be an envelope with your name and property name on it and the key and directions will be in that. Please if you will reply with a thumbs up or "Got it" so that we know you received the afterhours check-in instructions. Thank you and enjoy your stay!

My daughter and I had a fun little girls trip here. The cabin was very clean. Staying alongside the cliff line was awesome. We loved the well-made bridge and picnic table. The solar power worked great for us. It was private, though we occasionally heard our distant neighbors. I will say that the cabin is a bit of a downhill walk from the (very nice) fire pit area and toilet.

This place was probably one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed. The only thing to note is bring sheets. We will be back!
