My partner & I have been visiting the gorge since 2020 to hike, camp, & backpack, but decided to visit for our 4 year anniversary and get a cabin to relax more. We booked only 11 days out so we were nervous to find a cute cabin, dog friendly, & with a hot tub, but we did! This cabin in honestly way nicer than photos! Very new and nice! Yes it is very close to road and occasionally a truck speeds up and down road, but besides that completely secluded with no neighbors to hear sounds of nature and flowing creek directly behind under deck. It ended up being a heat wave, but the cabin stays very cool and in between the hills it is very shaded even on deck! Still enjoyable for hot tub and a fire once sun went down. We beat the heat with a sunrise hike, enjoyed ice cream from the brick, and dinner at red river rockhouse. Everything is there to cook if needed as well! The only warning is hot tub gets barely work, but yet shower water pressure is crazy almost stinging you- wish those could switch! but not a big enough issue to go down a star. Very clean, easy check in, no crazy check out rules besides trash and dishes. Would book again- very relaxing anniversary weekend
As described, great location, great communication. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area
Thank you for the kind words! We are happy to know that y'all enjoyed Star Gap Cabin, and that you would recommend it to others staying in the RRG area. We would love to see y'all again!
The cottage is in a quiet location. Well equipped. Hot tub came in handy after a long hike. Be sure to get a coffee at the Daniel Boone Coffee shop.
We are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us! Thank you for the feedback!
Star Gap cabin was perfect for our family of 4. The teenagers were grateful for the wi-fi and Roku tv. We were grateful for the comfortable beds, decent water pressure, scenic location, cleanliness throughout and the wonderful breakfast sandwiches sold at the coffee shop adjacent to the key drop-off. I'm not sure we'll be back any time soon, but I would absolutely consider staying here again.
Only downside was that on the way to the cabin I was having trouble logging into the Airbnb app. I tried texting Nancy for directions to the office for picking up keys, and no one ever responded. I eventually figured out the issue with my app. I suggest printing off or downloading the messages so that you can retrieve them / view them even when there is limited service in the area or on the drive there. Or, call instead of texting.
It was the perfect spring break escape. Wonderful, cozy cabin feel. We loved the hot tub, playing in the creek behind it and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Perfect for a family or couple who wants to explore the RRG.
incredible weekend at star gap cabin! perfect location. beautiful surroundings. the host was extremely responsive prior to check in with any questions i have. i will recommend this cabin to any of my friends looking for a perfect weekend getaway.
Such an awesome spot close to some of our favorite spots in Red River Gorge!
Had lots of fun at the Star Gap cabin! Really private and cozy. Hot tub was clean and functioning, bedding was fresh, and surroundings was beautiful.
Very nice cabin close to good places for hiking
Wonderful place!! Will definitely stay again!
Cabin was cute and cozy perfect for our weekend hiking trip.
Second year at the Star Gap cabin - still loved it! A bit nervous getting out of there in a snow storm, but not too bad with the right vehicle.
Very relaxing.
The Star Gap cabin is everything you’ll want for your mountain stay! Very cozy, great host, great location close to all the gorge has to offer. Highly recommend!
It was a lovely stay. The cabin was very nice and clean. Lots of things close by to do and see.
The cabin is super cute and private. There were only 2 of us and we ate out so we didn't
use much while there.
The bedroom downstairs is where we slept and the bed was very comfortable.
The water pressure for showering was fantastic.
It has a 2 in one coffee maker which was really nice. We only used the Keurig part and brought our own pods but they did have a reusable one there.
There was a maintenance issue but they addressed it and tried to make it right which I very much appreciated.
It worked out well and if we are ever in the area again we would book with them.
Nice quiet getaway.
Great cabin for pet owners! The cabin is tucked away just far enough from the main road to provide some peace and quiet without being too far from trails/restaurants. We're definitely considering staying here in the future. The only advice I would have for others is to pack less. We seriously over packed based on the cabin description and some other reviews. There were enough cooking utensils and pots for what we cooked as well as plenty of toilet paper and towels. The one thing we underestimated is how many bugs there were (probably due to the humidity and the creek) so I would recommend bringing plenty of bug spray!
Very clean and comfortable cabin.
cute lil cabin in the woods ...we enjoyed our time their...do bring extra pillows and plenty of towels ❤️
thanks for our stay yall
The cabin was as described, very cute and quaint. King bed was very comfy and line s were clean.
Bring your own condiments, paper towels as prior guests may have grabbed them.
Very close to all attractions. Took a nice drive on a rainy day up 715 to 77, relaxing and very scenic.
Definitely worth the stay!
Great cabin that's tucked away in the woods. It's quiet and peaceful and makes for an excellent retreat.
Love love loved this cabin. Perfect for 1 adult, 2 teens, and 2 lil ones. Creek runs behind the cabin that allowed for a lot of exploring and rock collecting. Maintenance issue addressed immediately and fixed within 2 hrs of call. We would definitely stay here again. Plus it was super easy to get to and park at.
Expect an amazing place with an amazing hot tub. The bed is so comfy except I wish I brought my own pillows because I’m a bit picky about them. Their coffee machine is amazing! You can either use a pot or keurig pods for on the go. The tv is a roku tv with access to Netflix and such which was so nice. It’s in a great location and a great spot for sure worth the price. I will definitely be returning!
Relaxing cabin and perfect location! Bring some extra towels if you plan on using the hot tub often or are traveling with kiddos. We genuinely enjoyed our time there and plan on revisiting soon!
Star gap is a wonderful stay. If anything, the property is undersold with its current description. A small creek keeps you company while on the porch or by the camp grill/fire - what a treat. The cherry on top was the electric fireplace not mentioned in the listing, so relaxing.
While more than accessible with a compact with front wheel drive, be careful pulling out of the drive. Locals take the road quickly and a hill leaves the drive slightly less visible.
Wifi worked great for streaming NCAA games and working from home with video conferencing.
Would definitely stay again and have already recommended to friends.
Lovely place..a must to get away to
This is the perfect little cabin! It is in a great location for exploring the gorge. We would love to come back and stay next time we are in the area!
Great stay. Perfect location for a quiet getaway
Nice place in a good location. The cabin is pretty and would be ideal for a family of 4, a couple, or 2 couples. The parking space is huge, but be careful if you have a low-clearance vehicle since there's a drop (or a motorcycle because the gravel is pretty loose). It was pretty clean, but there were a bunch of linens in the dryer when we arrived and we had to re-wash a bunch of dishes that were in the cabinet with stuff stuck on them. Overall, a good place to stay if you're at rrg and want a cabin with a hot tub. I wish they had left us more than 1 dishwasher pod, but it wasn't a huge deal.
Important advice: check-in is not at the location that pops up in google-maps when you click the link (in fact, that will also take you 3 .iles past the cabin), they've got an office at a separate location with the key and directions to the cabin.
Excellent destination; the cabin and surroundings were excellent (big fan of the creek which ran under the deck; photos understated how pleasant it is). Cleanliness left something to be desired: arrived to find dirty dishes (last guest made egg casserole?) still in the dishwasher, and some dirty dishes in the drawers and cabinets. Very barebones supplies too - needed to purchase TP and trash bags during our stay (not readily available at the store the office is located in), and recommend bringing your own kitchenware if you're picky about your setup and plan to cook. Overall, very worth it if you come fully prepared.
Great cabin! It was perfect for a small getaway for my husband and I. Check in and out was very easy. We enjoyed the hot tub and the cleanliness of the entire cabin. It’s easily accessible and close to main attractions, yet you still get that cabin in the woods feel.
Cute little cabin with everything you might need. Located in such a great area, we had a blast staying here!
This is a great location just outside all the Red River Gorge things to do. Perfect for a family or a pair of couples
Had a good time!
Great experience and place to stay at. We had a great time!!! The scenery was the best and the serenity in the air.
A very clean and well maintained cabin. It is close to a well traveled road but our host gave us lots of communication of emergency road work happening just up the hill. Great location close to Slade. We loved the hot tub, the satellite t.v. and the comfy king size bed - just 2 of us so did not use the loft. Kitchen is nice with dishes, utensils and cups and mugs. Dishwasher and washer dryer are a nice bonus! 2 dressers in downstairs bedroom but beware extra pillows and linens take half of them. Closet but bring some hangers. Nice bathroom with good water pressure. Enjoyed our stay in a very friendly place!! We would recommend this cabin!
The cabin was amazing we enjoyed our time with family and friends ❤ ♥
A great location and nice place to get away and enjoy Red River Gorge. Easy to find and get to the cabin and attractions. The host communicated well and even though the hot tub was not available they worked with us to make sure we were still satisfied. Overall, enjoyed the stay and would be nice for a small family or group.
The cabin was as pictured inside. The cabin sits much closer to the road than the pictures make it seem. Pick up trucks FLY up and down the winding road at all hours of the day and night. Having dogs with us made this fairly stressful.
The women at the cabin rental office were far from friendly when picking up or dropping off keys. Communication was horrible. No phone calls or voicemails were answered or returned.
Overall the stay was fine but we found a new cabin for our second night and had a much more pleasant and beautiful stay!
A great place for a small family or couple to relax in solitude. Beautiful wooded location with a creek behind the cabin. The cabin itself was very clean aside from some mold along the washer door seal, likely from people closing the washer door in between uses. Do plan on bringing oven-safe cookware if you plan to use the oven, paper towels, foil if needed, and any seasonings/oil you'll need for cooking. Beds are comfy, good water pressure, and AC and hot tub both work well. A very tranquil place to stay.
Beautiful little cabin tucked away from the main road yet still close to all the main attractions.
Great location and cabin!
Nice out of the way cabin near Red River Gorge. Peaceful!
Can’t beat the location of this place if you are visiting Red River Gorge!
Fantastic spot for a family of four!
Perfect place to get away
Clean, spacious, private, and cozy! Hot tub is cool
Cabin was perfect for a family of four. Clean and near all the attractions in the Red River Gorge.
We really enjoyed our stay at Star Gap this past weekend! The cabin is situated on a quiet road, surrounded by nature and an adorable little creek that goes right past it. It's close to Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge, and the restaurants in the area. Was a great place to relax after long days of hiking.
