The Roost is a great cabin and the updates are nice! The beds are so comfortable and we loved the pool table. Thanks for another memorable vacation.

It was a really nice cabin so peaceful. The only complaint was the gravel driveway to the cabin. It was very steep with loose gravel. Not motorcycle friendly!

My boyfriend & I loved this little weekend getaway. Although, we rode the motorcycle in & had to find the house at night time which was a challenge. The directions need updated especially if you are arriving at night. Also, the ride out with the motorcycle was sketchy but fun for us! Due to the rocks & hills it isn’t ideal for a bike! We didn’t even use the downstairs, it’s outdated & not very welcoming but the upstairs did us just right! The hot tub was awesome! I wish the tv in the bedroom would work because we both fell asleep on the couch. Some tiles in the bathroom were loose & need some work but overall it’s a beautiful place & we would recommend to anyone! ?

Response From: Scenic Cabin Rentals, LLC

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry some of the roads are not motorcycle friendly. Some of our cabins are more old fashion and that just tells you a little bit about the history of the cabin. We are making updates daily on our cabins. Thank you for staying with us.

Very secluded cabin, clean and all was as described in the listing. The down stairs bedroom can get a little noisy from anyone staying in the upstairs bedroom, but I’m guessing that’s pretty normal for a cabin. RedPoint BBQ was a definite highlight!! Some of the best BBQ I’ve ever eaten!! We didn’t get in the hot tub, but the patio area was very beautiful and hot tub was already warmed up!

The drive to get to the cabin is a bit steep and I understand why others said in the winter it would be a bit scary. The cabin was amazing and exactly what we had hoped it would be. We felt like we were in the mountains in our cozy cabin. I would recommend not turning on the back porch lights if you plan on sitting out there in the evening, the bugs are a plenty and they were attracted to the lights. Once we turned them off and used the citronella candles provided they seemed to go away. All in all would 100% recommend and I plan on going back.

We loved our stay at the cabin! It exceeded our expectations! It was a little difficult finding at first. The address on the page does not take you to the cabin. GPS cannot reach the cabin. But after getting to the clubhouse the instructions are self explanatory. Everything was perfect and the area is phenomenal. Would definitely recommend staying at this cabin!

The cabin is beautiful, and has a wonderful view into the woods. It is a touch difficult to get to, the road is extremely steep nearby and gravel. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, games and books were available. we would love to be back.

The only complaint is dirty bed linens. The blankets on the downstairs bed needed washed badly and wont fit in the apartment sized washer on the premises. There were burn holes and body fluid on them and the sheets were torn and inside out on the bed.

The house itself was great and the hot tub was amazing! It was nice to have a dishwasher, no one wants to hand wash dishes on vacation when there is so many other things to see and do! Check in and out was easy and if you take a drive on the property you will see some other really neat cabins. Definitely want 4wd or awd if you visit in the winter! Would definitely book this cabin again!

Excellent place with a lot of room for group activities. Bring a 4WD car if possible for the big hill; if that's not an option, like it wasn't for us, it isn't hard to build momentum before getting up. Ample space around the pool table, and good proximity to the Daniel Boone.

Fun cabin getaway in a nice and secluded lot. Make sure to bring paper towels and your own firewood. The wood we bought at the coffee shop was wet and wouldn’t catch. Also bring some socks with grip as the steps down to the basement are hardwood and steep.

Bring everything from home for the best experience. Overall a good spot to share cabin life with our friends. Great location to hikes and activities, but be prepared with 4-whl drive -very steep gravel roads. Cozy place for 4, 2 bedrooms on separate floors, however the stairs down were very steep so youll need guests that can manage that. There is a drive and door to downstairs if you need wheelchair access downstairs.

There were surprisingly some things in the cabin that the description said wasnt like salt and pepper, coffee filters, cast iron pan. things were not in cabin we needed Paper towels, sharp knife they were all very dull, butter knives there were only 3, any needed tools youll need for your meal (chs grater, certain pots or sheet pan), drinking water and take away containers or ziplock bags.

Bathrooms there is a hand towel and hand soap 2 rills of tp but thats it. Upstairs shower has no ability to adjust water heat so expect a scalding hot or freezing cold shower. The downstairs toilet was running and we fixed it but the inside tank was extremely moldy so terrifying to fix.

Bedrooms -beds were comfortable and felt clean. Lighting overall was frustrating though you only have lamps you need to turn on all around.

Hot tub- dated model but clean and worked well (if you follow the directions) a nice square tub that fit 4 people well. It is covered so can work if rain or snow.

Dishes they had sufficient dishes for eating and snacking drinking, but there was a dishwasher full of dirty dishes when we arrived so we had to hand wash all dishes as we ran out of dishwasher detergent using the ones there to clean someone elses dishes.

Water- it is well water but did not smell like sulfur which was a plus. There was a water jug there for drinking but it was empty. So bring your own.

Heat- it was 30-60 degrees while there and heat was good upstairs but didnt really warm up down stairs. We tried to play pool but way too cold.

There was a dog bowl there so could be a good spot to bring a pup. And there is good walking around the cabin on the gravel road (turn left out of drive)

This cabin was really nice. We stayed here with a family of 6 and we had plenty of room. We played a lot of pool, we played games which were provided in the cabin. The hot tub was nice and clean. The cabin was clean and well stalked. Make sure to bring towels. Location was just a short drive to the natural bridge. We really felt that the cabin was worth the money spent, we will be back. Drive way was very steep but our minivan made it. Would recommend 4WD. Miguel’s Pizza was really good. Give it a try.

I cannot recommend the Roost enough for anyone looking to get away to the Red River Gorge area. It was close to everything we wanted to do there but also so comfy and fun with all the extra amenities provided that we were happy to just spend time relaxing at the cabin too. We had to bring a few things like towels and kitchen supplies but that is mentioned in the description for the Roost. I already want to go back and stay again.

Leave your worries at home, this destination is well-equipped and stocked, everything works, and you'll have plenty of opportunities to relax in this tastefully-decorated cabin! Two vehicles have plenty of unloading room, there's an upper and a lower parking area. The gravel road makes a lovely hiking trip, you can go as far as you please. I didn't see it mentioned, but the downstairs rec room with the pool table also has a (second) refrigerator, the tall dorm size, which is so convenient. We were not able to get the jets in the tub to work, but with two working showers, it was not a big deal. It was a pleasure to be the first guests to use the brand new charcoal grill, and to be able to relax around a campfire as well. Furnishings are completely lovely. We appreciated the fantastic hot tub. Beds must have been comfy because we slept very well!

Our family had a great stay at this cabin. Kitchen was well stocked, cabin was clean. Hot tub and pool table were a hit. Beds were comfy. Bring aluminum foil and grill tools for charcoal grill. Be careful on the stairs as they are steep and slippery in socks. The access road and driveway are gravel, basically one lane and steep at times so go slow. We have a minivan and 4 WD Jeep and chose to bring our Jeep and were glad of it. Make sure you go to the Red Point BBQ restaurant that is located just around the corner- access is from the gravel access road. It’s amazing !

We had a great stay here. Clean and quiet, and very close to hiking and climbing spots. The hot tub was amazing for after long days outdoors, and we were grateful to have the washer and dryer. The kitchen was great for preparing healthy, home-cooked meals too. We're already thinking of our next stay!

Great spot! You have to pick up the address with door code but it made us feel a bit safer. Easy directions. 4x4 is not required in May. Kitchen well stocked, beds comfortable, hot tub hot! Beautiful location. Well furnished cabin. I only hoped for less dust and cobwebs for that price. Driveway is exciting but we enjoyed being surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Myself and my 2 grown daughters stayed 3 days and 2 nights. The cost was great and the cabin met our expectations. It has a very comfortable home like feel. The back patio that is covered was perfect because it did rain but the weather was warm so we were able to enjoy a dinner on the very spacious porch on a rainy evening! I’ll say it took me a while to locate the perfect cabin for our needs and this one was ON SPOT! Many of the reviews mention the driveway being steep and yes it was a little bit but the roads to get there were worse than the driveway! Pretty twisty turney and pretty narrow. Drive cautious and you’ll do fine. My only issue is I wish I would have brought more family on this trip! I didn’t realize the amount of spacious sleeping accommodations it entailed! Whoa! To the comments on the “towels”, just ask and they will give you towels.
Putting the actual address in GPS will not come up. You do have to use the address given in your confirmation email. Knowing that address ahead of time (write it down/screen shot) is a plus because having cell service is hit or miss if you have to look it up. We were happy that our cabin provided wifi.
Our trip was planned with others (10 ladies) who got cabins from other properties (ours being the Best of them all) and we all met to hike The Nature Bridge and go kayaking at The Gorge Underground. The hike was perfect. The kayak tour was great but VERY cold! If you plan to do this be prepared and dress warm and definitely wear gloves because your hands and feet freeze!! Other than that it was amazing to experience!
Thank you to our host for providing such a comfortable home to stay. We all truly enjoyed ourselves!

The Roost was perfect for our weekend away with the dogs. The cabin was clean, had plenty of room, and looks exactly like the photos show. We enjoyed the covered deck, don't forget your swim suits for the hot tub! The gravel drive to the cabin is intense, I would recommend getting there before dark and having what you need and getting back before dark. Also, if you drink wine or liquor either bring it with you or pick some up at a liquor store. I didnt realize grocery stores didn't sell wine so we were on a hunt to find that Saturday. Make sure to bring towels or ask for them when you check in. We will definitely be back to the Roost

The Roost is a well appointed cabin in private wooded setting. The jacuzzi and pool table were fun. The beds were comfortable and we found everything we needed to cook. The TVs and internet worked well. The road is unpaved, narrow and steep only for the last mile. Be ready for that. We had all wheel drive and no problems. We found so many excellent hikes in the area, and we also did a kayaking experience. Great family stay!
